 I am a senior lecturer in the School of Surveying, University of Otago, New Zealand, specialising in Geographic Information Science (GIS).  

Research - My research interests can be summarized as follows:      Spatial Data Structures
Geographic Visualisation                                                                                       Spatiotemporal Modelling
Environmental Decision Support Systems                                                     Cartographic Generalisation

Teaching - I teach on the Geographic Information Science courses at undergraduate level. I also supervise students at PhD and Masters  level.

 
 
Bluff Oyster Fishing Forum

I have recently been working with the Bluff Oyster Fishing Forum , helping collect and represent local spatial knowledge on historical and current oyster fishing grounds (via onine PPGIS):
